The Statistics on Residencies

• The average number of artists-in-residence at a time is 9, while a quarter host only 1 or 2 artists at a time. (The most is 50.)

• Roughly 60% of residencies are in rural areas and small towns, and 40% are in urban areas.

• Residencies serve emerging, mid-career, and established artists in equal measure.

 

The Benefits of BVOB Devised Residency

Broad Views on Broadway is providing artists with dedicated time and space to create new work. Rather than focusing on the end product our first 2 months of the residency are all about the artists developing their collaborative language and style. We are offering our artists the opportunity to explore, take risks, experiment, and collaborate; a research-and-development lab for the arts.

 

The Locations of the BVOB Devised Residency

We'll be taking each group out of town for two weeks every-other-month to explore and learn from other artists, cultures, and environments. Though BVOB Devised will be based in Brooklyn there will always be access to studios and instruments at all stay-away locations.
